Shervin Pishevar attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he would go on to study molecular cellular biology, but after graduating, he decided that we would be better served to embark on a career in entrepreneurship.
Over the course of his career the, the shrewd businessman would garner a reputation for his uncanny investing acumen, which saw him discover a number of prominent brands, including Dollar Shave Club, Tumblr, Warby Parker, Uber, and Rap Genius, prior to the masses taking notice. Because of his eye for successful ventures, when Shervin Pishevar chooses to discuss his views regarding the economy, or new economic trends, there is often a large audience hanging on his every word.
Recently, taking to Twitter after an extended hiatus, Shervin Pishevar dished on his beliefs regarding the fate of the United States economically, as well as a number of other pertinent topics. This proved to be a mighty undertaking, as Mr. Pishevar tweeted 50 posts, over a 24-hour period, stopping only to eat.
The world’s evolution of the “American way,” was one of the standout topics that Shervin Pishevar chose to discuss, as he referenced the way in which it has changed in the United States, as well as the manner in which other countries have adopted it. The change of philosophy regarding the traditionally American entrepreneurial spirit is allowing other countries, particularly China, to make incredible advancements regarding their technology and infrastructure; so much so, that the United States is rapidly falling behind.
Mr. Pishevar regards this change as a “tectonic shift,” which as rendered Silicon Valley to little more than an idea, which has spread across the world, essentially making entrepreneurship and innovation, “borderless.” The infrastructure of the United States has been suffering for years, as many of our governmental leaders are stuck in short-term thought, choosing to largely ignore the issues that will affect the country in the long run. China, on the other hand, is thriving in this area, and their speed of execution has become something to marvel at, as well as something the world, including the United States, can aspire to.
